What it is

EIT Urban Mobility was founded in 2019 as an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, an EU body, to speed up the shift to sustainable transport in cities. It works with over 250 partner organisations and runs innovation hubs in Amsterdam, Munich, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Prague. This series is its events calendar, limited to the dated, in-person events. It is a list, not one conference: EIT Urban Mobility hosts some events, co-organises others and appears at the rest as a partner or speaker. Its own largest event, the Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, has a separate page on futurehubs.

What is on the autumn 2026 calendar

Munich, 21-22 October. The DREAMS project closes with a symposium and a training day on making the 15-minute city work in low-density outskirts, drawing on three years of work in six places: Budapest, Brussels, the Munich region, Paris, Utrecht and Vienna. It was free, but applications were due by 20 September and travel was not covered.

Madrid, 27-28 October. At MAMS2026, a summit on autonomous vehicles, EIT Urban Mobility is a Silver Partner and speaker. The organiser points to Madrid’s Level 4 autonomous bus and the 20 km² Villaverde Mobility Sandbox as reasons for holding it there.

Barcelona, 2-3 November. Around the Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress come two events of EIT Urban Mobility’s own. The Mobility Startup Nexus, the evening before, matches startups with investors and has limited spots. The CEE Cities Roundtable, held with the New Mobility Association on 3 November, is for municipalities and mobility professionals from Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic States. Its 2026 topics include urban access zones, zero-emission public transport, walking and micromobility, integrating public transport across cities and regions, and winning public support.

Prague, 12 and 24-26 November. At PVA EXPO PRAHA, EIT Urban Mobility co-organises the Clean Mobility Conference of the e-Salon fair, six panels on vehicle manufacturing, batteries, logistics, fleets and charging. It then takes part in the CZECHBUS Forum, held during the CZECHBUS trade fair for transport authorities, cities, operators and manufacturers; that programme is still being developed.

Why it matters for cities

For transport departments, the CEE Cities Roundtable is the item built around peer exchange between municipalities, and the one most relevant to Romanian cities. Munich, Madrid, Barcelona and Prague all have futurehubs profiles: Munich, Madrid, Barcelona and Prague.

Taking part

Conditions differ by event. The CEE roundtable asks interested participants to email the organiser. The e-Salon conference sells tickets, with privileged access for EIT Urban Mobility partners. For the others, registration runs through the host. We could not find prices published, and none of the pages announces a livestream.
