What it is
AI Technologies & Research Forum is a new two-day conference on artificial intelligence in Cluj-Napoca, held at the Grand Hotel Italia on 18 and 19 November 2026. It is a commercial event: the website’s terms say it is organised and managed by PRNETWORK SRL, and it is sold as a business forum rather than an academic meeting. The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is its academic partner.
How the programme works
Each day has one theme. The first is about AI and strategic decisions in companies: executive keynotes, enterprise case studies and investment. The second is given over to AI in cybersecurity, covering AI-driven attacks and defence, governance and data privacy. There is also a demo zone. Sessions run from 09:00 to 18:00 in Romanian and English, with simultaneous translation. The official site did not list speakers or a detailed timetable when we checked.
The opening day coincides with the inauguration of the university’s own Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, AIRi@UTCN, set for 18 November 2026.
Who goes and how to take part
The organiser addresses executives, investors, founders and public-sector leaders. There is one ticket type, a two-day pass at EUR 180 plus VAT, with a group option for five or more people. It includes lunches, networking receptions, the demo zone and recordings of the main sessions after the event. Registration is by form; the organiser then sends an invoice and confirms the seat by email. Seats are limited and allocated in order of registration.
Read the refund policy before you pay: cancelling 15 to 29 days before the event returns 50%, and later cancellations return nothing. A pass can be transferred to someone else free of charge up to five business days before.
Why it matters for cities
For Cluj, the forum is part of a growing local calendar of technology events, and the cybersecurity day touches questions that public bodies face too. It is aimed at business, though, and we found no programme item specific to local government.
Going, or following from home
This is an on-site event and no livestream is announced. Pass holders get recordings of the main sessions afterwards; others will have to wait for whatever the organiser publishes.
