What it is
How to Web is a startup and technology conference held in Bucharest each autumn. It was founded in 2010, and its organisers say its aim is to put the Eastern European startup and technology ecosystem on the global map. The audience is tech professionals, founders, investors and business developers, according to the conference site.
The 2026 edition ran from 6 to 8 October at Face Convention Center. The 2027 edition is set for 5 to 7 October in Bucharest; the organiser’s travel page currently names the same venue, on Piața Presei Libere.
How the programme works
The three days build on each other. Day 0 opens with side events across the city and, in 2026, the Investors Summit, a closed-door afternoon for limited-partner, angel, investor and executive ticket holders. Day 1 opens the conference with three stages, one-to-one matchmaking and an expo floor. Day 2 has keynotes, roundtables, investor and founder programmes, and a closing party.
Startup programmes include Spotlight, a pitch competition; a demo area; and Dealflow, which arranges meetings between startups and investors. Countries can also bring a national delegation: a government agency, accelerator, hub or corporate programme nominates 5 to 10 startups that launched a product within the last five years and have raised less than EUR 5 million. Delegations get a branded booth and curated investor meetings.
Who goes and how to take part
Tickets are sold by profile. When we checked, the 2027 ticket page listed a Discover ticket at EUR 99, Builder at EUR 129 and Startup at EUR 89, with higher prices for business-development, executive and investor tickets. Prices move through super-early-bird, early-bird, regular and late-bird tiers, so these figures will change.
What came out of past editions
The organiser also publishes an annual venture report. The 2025 edition puts Eastern European venture investment at EUR 3.6 billion of EUR 65 billion invested in Europe in 2025, or 5.5%. On stage in 2026, a state adviser from the Romanian Presidential Administration said Romania must become a place where startups scale into global companies.
Why it matters for cities
How to Web is not a city-government event. It is relevant to city and regional innovation agencies that support local startups: the delegation format is open to public agencies, and the conference is a place to meet investors active in the region.
