A regional roadmap for carbon capture and storage

Stavanger and Haugaland Vekst, supported by Rogaland County, lead a project to draw up a shared roadmap for CO2 handling in the region; in June 2026 about 40 actors from the whole value chain gave input, the work is carried out by PwC and Fremje, and the region is preparing a joint response to the state's new carbon-capture support scheme. Capturing emissions from large point sources is key to the city's goal of an 80% cut by 2030.

The solution was built with the Norwegian Building Authority and the software suppliers Sikri and Norkart, and completion certificates and commencement permits may follow.
