On Thursday 24 September the City of Eindhoven officially opened the Energiehuis, together with the partners 040energie, Duurzaamheidspact, VvE Platform 040 and the Warmtefonds. The centre offers residents independent advice and practical help with saving energy and making their homes more sustainable. It is located in the WoensXL shopping centre and is open to anyone with a question about energy, without an appointment.

What the Energiehuis offers

The Energiehuis is at Winkelcentrum Woensel 114a, in WoensXL. Residents can walk in with any question related to energy. The advice ranges from simple energy-saving tips to guidance on insulation, heat pumps and subsidies. The city presents it as one place for advice on saving energy and making homes more sustainable.

Why the city opened it

Alderman Rik Thijs, responsible for Climate and Energy, said the main aim of the Energiehuis is to make things easy for residents. He noted that making a home more sustainable can seem complicated, or that people simply do not know where to start, and that it helps to have a place to go for advice and practical help. He linked the opening to the current situation: energy prices keep rising and winter is approaching, so it is important for residents to know what is possible and what they can do themselves. He said he hopes residents will find the Energiehuis and drop in, even if they do not yet know exactly where to begin.
